Sven Malinowski - Managing Director Bad Rheinfelden AG

"Dear guests of the sole uno.

As a modern wellness facility, we bear responsibility – both towards our guests and towards the environment. For this reason, after careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue the free provision of bath and sauna towels from 1 December 2025. From this date onwards, we kindly ask you to bring your own personal bath or sauna towel.

Around 500,000 guests visit our facility every year, using a total of around two million bath and sauna towels. The average consumption of around four towels per guest leads to a very high volume of laundry, which consumes considerable resources and places an unnecessary burden on the environment. Our goal is to reduce this consumption of resources in a sustainable manner. We are convinced that this will be achieved if everyone determines their own needs in future – and experience shows that this is significantly less than four towels per person.

Another important aspect concerns the quality of your stay: in recent years, we have increasingly noticed that towels are being left behind in relaxation and changing areas. This not only detracts from the overall impression of our facility, but also from the relaxing atmosphere we want to offer you. Your well-being and a harmonious atmosphere are our top priorities.

We are aware that this change means the end of a valued service that we have been able to offer our guests for many years. This decision was therefore not taken lightly, but is the result of a long and responsible process. The new regulation requires an adjustment – for you as well as for us. At the same time, it is already established in many comparable spas, and we are confident that it will also be met with understanding and acceptance at sole uno.

We thank you very much for your understanding and support – for a mindful, sustainable and all-round relaxing wellness experience at sole uno.

FAQ

Questions? We answer them!

Around 2 million cloths are used at sole uno every year. At peak times, over 10,000 pieces have to be washed per day, which requires enormous amounts of water, energy and detergent, causes transportation routes and has a significant impact on the environment. The new regulation significantly reduces the consumption of resources - an important contribution to greater sustainability.

Unfortunately, the requirement to use a maximum of one bath towel and one sauna towel per person is often not adhered to. On average, 4 or more towels are used per stay, which has led to a massive increase in consumption.

Unfortunately, many towels are carelessly left lying around in the recreation and changing areas. The new regulation ensures more order and space - and therefore a more pleasant atmosphere.

From December 1, 2025, free bath and sauna towels will no longer be provided.

Yes, of course. For the sauna, it is important that the cloth is large enough so that all parts of the body that come into contact with the wood have room on it ("no sweat on the wood").

No problem: bath and sauna towels can be borrowed at any time for a fee of CHF 4.50.
